seeds

I was given a packet of seeds yesterday. Zinnias. "Go plant these seeds, make the world a more beautiful place."

Jesus told the story of the talents in Mt. 25. Each of us is given talents, money, gifts. They are seeds that we are to plant to make the world a more beautiful place. There is an old saying, "Your life is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift to God."

The physical packet of seeds is just a reminder of the fact that we all already have a packet of seeds. Talents, money, gifts. Opportunities from God, given so that we might invest them into the world, into the lives of others. What kind of seeds are you planting in the lives of those around you? What are we leaving for those who will come after us? If you are alive today, you have an opportunity to make the world a more beautiful place.
