If they say, "this is Jeff Brinkman, my pastor."
I have started saying, "yes but I am normal."
Someone called me out on that the other day. They asked if I was saying that other pastors are not normal. Well, that is not what I mean at all.
What I mean is that many people expect a pastor to judge them or guilt them. Sometimes pastors come across as above you. I reject this. I will not judge you or guilt you. And I am not above anyone. The spiritual life is something that we do together.
I am normal. Sort of.
