Today is Saturday, and I am wearing a shirt and tie. Saturdays usually entail mowing clothes and sermon honing, but today is different. Today there is a funeral.
Many of you remember Steve M, the pastor at Woods Chapel before me. Steve's wife is Margo. A few days ago, Margo's 21 year old son, Steve's stepson, took his own life.
When you are used to comforting those who grieve, it is an odd feeling to have people coming to comfort you. Many pastors will visit Steve and Margo today to love on them and to remind them of God's love.
Life is short, but God is good. You can trust him. All the time. When things happen that we don't like, when things happen that we don't understand, we put our trust in God. Please pray for Steve and Margo.
It is raining today, but there is still plenty of good in God's world if we can just see it.
