Grace

I was sitting in church last Sunday and the pastor talked about how the "incredible, amazing grace of God reaches out to you."  I got to thinking about this.

We think we need to earn God's love.  Since we are used to having to earn human love, we think that we have to earn God's love.  But we don't.  In fact, we can't earn it.  Think about that.  YOU CAN'T BE GOOD ENOUGH TO EARN GOD'S LOVE.  It is a free gift.  It already belongs to you.  God made men and women, he stepped back and took a look, and he said, IT IS GOOD.  See Genesis 1:31.

The incredible amazing grace of God reaches out to you.  Past your sins, past your worries, past your perceived sense of unworthiness.  His grace is reaching for you, if you just open your arms.

Revelation 3:20 says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock."  This passage has been used in many guilt laden ways over the years to press people into salvation.  Like God wants to press people into salvation..... But forget the guilt for a moment and look at the grace at work in that picture.  A loving gracious friend is knocking at your door.  He wishes to come in and smile and extend grace.  Why would we not open the door?

The incredible amazing grace of God is reaching out to you.
It doesn't get any better than that.
