That Lemon Tree

My wife wanted a lemon tree.  So we bought this little guy and planted it in the corner.  For two years it produced no lemons.  Finally in the last month, it is producing it's crop.

One lemon.

It is funny, but we find it kind of exciting that the little tree is making a lemon.  Like Kevin Costner in Waterworld, we are pretty possessive of our lemons.

Some people are like our lemon tree.... not quite meeting our expectations.  And yet then we see an occasional glimmer of hope.  One lemon.  One fruit.  One act of kindness.  Maybe with a little fertilizer our lemon tree will do better.  Maybe with a little more love, the people in our lives that are under producing will begin to bear more fruit.
