We are too tribal

Raider fans in "the Black Hole"

I am from Kansas City.

Is it ok to hate the Raiders? The Yankees???

We are too tribal.

Ed Smith grows up in our town.  He’s the star quarterback at the local high school. We love him. He graduates and chooses the wrong college he goes to K state instead of Missouri.  Now we are very unhappy with him. Then after college he’s drafted by the Chiefs and we love him again. We love him so much and we’re so proud of him.  Then after a couple of years the Chiefs trade him to the Raiders, and we hate him again. Do we understand how ridiculous this is?  They’re just guys!  We need to be less tribal and more communal.

Everyone matters.  Red and yellow black and white they are precious in his sight.
