I remember the first time I heard the word missional. Someone said that it wasn't a word. Well, that word, and that concept resonated with me. And as we began to talk about it at church, it resonated with most of the congregation.
I remember one lady telling me that we needed more about the bible and less about missions. I told her the bible was about missions.
Friends, if a church isn't in mission, if it isn't helping the poor, how is it the church?
For us to consider ourselves followers of Jesus, we need less doctrine, no judgment and lots more missions. Christians should be engaged in missional living, finding ways to help the poor. Churches should be talking about this, and members should be the foot soldiers in following Jesus in mission.
That is more "shoulds" than I like to have in a post, but you get the idea. We are not here to believe the right things, we are here to love one another and to give our lives selflessly to the broken and to the least of these.
