general Jeff update

So I had a wonderful visit last weekend with my buddy Roger.  Oh my, it was fantastic.  While he was here I got a call from the construction company to go to Omaha for a few weeks.  So I spent part of Easter Sunday travelling.

For my friends at the Ft Pierce First United Methodist Church, I probably will not be back til May 20.  Omaha, then Kansas City... then back to Florida.

In the Atlanta airport I had to change terminals so I rode the train.  When the train stopped, the door opened and a few of us were trying to get off.  A group of four young people were trying to get in.  There was literally no where for anyone to go because they were blocking the square feet right in front of the door.  Maybe I shouldn't have said anything, but I said, "can you wait until we get off of the train."  The young woman said, "go around."

Now I am typing this 4 hours later and I still feel the hurt of that encounter.  Tell me if I am wrong, but when my parents raised me, you let other people get off, and get out of the way, then you entered.  I was put off by the attitude, and by the disrespect for an old person.  [me.]

OMG I just made it about me!  I am so good at that.

So I was sitting at the bar in Atlanta waiting for my flight to storm ridden Kansas City.  The people on either side had paid their bill and left.  The bills were sitting there on the counter for anyone to see.  One left a $2 tip on a $30 bill the other left $1.10 on a $16.90 bill.  I was annoyed.  I gave the server $10 when she came to pick up the bills.

Anyway, the moral of the story goes back to what it always goes back to.  How we treat each other matters.  Grace and kindness leaves a sweet spot.  Rude behavior leaves a mark as well.

We only go around once in this life.  We have only one chance to live this day.  Leave a positive mark.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
