wanting nothing in return

In general, I believe that true kindness is never about what you get back. Our reward is the joy of giving or of doing the right thing- of showing love.  How they respond to your kindness is immaterial.

Yet I have found when I have given a kindness and there is no acknowledgement, it can be hard.  I gave someone a gift.  They snarled and said that they did not want it.  Ouch!

Yes.  Sometimes our kindness will be met with coldness, and that is difficult for us.  But, let us continue to live lives based on sharing the love.  How they respond and how we feel about it is ultimately less important than delivering the grace.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
