About two times a week someone asks me if so and so gets to go to heaven. It is usually a concern that they have because someone has told them that this person or that person is going to hell. Here is my question.....Why do we think that this is our decision or our judgement call to make?
We should reach and care for everyone we can. We should tell the story of Jesus and invite people to believe in Him in ways that do not scare them away. We should trust that God is working all over the world to win people. In every city, in every culture, God is revealing himself at least through the things that he has made so that men are without excuse.
Why do we think we get to say who goes to hell? Do we know what is in the hearts of every person?
Maybe if we stopped worrying about who the good ones are and who the bad ones are, and instead spent our time trying to live the Christian life and share the love of Jesus, we might be a little more contented. Let's focus on loving God and loving others and lets leave the invitation list to heaven up to God.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

Thank you for this post Jeff! I get asked about this alot, being from a Jewish background. It seems reasonable that if we are going to rely on God's guidance in the everyday aspects of life, then why would we try to either predict (or second guess) who is going to heaven? This sounds like something we definitely want to leave on God's plate!! InkyLynne
