It must grow

Just as a tree must grow or it will die, the Christ in you must grow or it will stagnate and die.

The teachings of Jesus, the character of Christ, they must grow in you, or they will stagnate and die.  There is always room for us to become more loving, more joyful, more peaceful and more patient.  This is in fact, the work of the Holy Spirit.  Theologians call this process “sanctification.”  I don’t really care for the word, but the idea is that the spirit makes you sweeter.

Christians need to grow sweeter.  Present company included.  Is the character of Christ growing in you?  In me?
