ready

On Sunday Pastor Tim said, "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear."

It reminded me of a story about a young man who did not apply himself in college.  Years later a professor was asked if the young man had been his student.  The professor replied, "he attended several of my classes, but he was never my student."

Sometimes we are not ready to learn.  Sometimes we think that we know it all.  I used to say to my kids, "you can learn these lessons from me, or just let life teach you."  Be well assured- life is a very good teacher, and it has a way of painfully opening our minds.

Sometimes we pour ourselves into people trying to help them get it, but they have to learn it on their own, they have to do it their own way.  And who knows, maybe their way will work out just fine.

We can never learn from anyone else until the receptive student part of our heart is open.

Do I know it all?  NO.
Who am I learning from?  Who are you learning from?
