REALLY???
God being a black woman is no more ridiculous than us thinking that God is an old white man with a beard.
Our denominational, human ideas and depictions of God fall short. All of them.
The bible says that God is love. 1 John 4. Do we believe that? Or do we believe that God is an old man on a throne. Maybe we believe that God is sitting in the church somewhere. I think that most humans think of God in terms of being a person, because that is all that we know.
But God is love. The bible says so. He is a spirit. He is love. Consequently, whenever you come into contact with love, in some way that is hard for us to understand, you have come into contact with God. When we feel love for another person we sense the holiness of that. Love is amazing, love is a miracle. God is love.
Don't worry if your kids do not attend church. They don't have to see the world the way that we might. Ask yourself this... do my kids know love? Do my kids experience the miracle of love? Then somehow, in ways that are outside of our denominational definitions, they have and are experiencing God.
It's a beautiful day in God's world be sure to see the good.
