Respect

In response to a recent blog post, a friend wrote in and said,

I am struggling because I seem to be surrounded by those who have a dogged determination that every jot and tittle of the Bible is gospel vs Jesus' message of love God and love your neighbor. Such literalizing of scripture is tearing the "organizational church" and former congregations apart. Over the years, I have moved from a conservative thought to "hate the sin but love the sinner", to "who can cast the first stone".

Where is the love and mutual respect?

Who can cast the first stone?  But for the grace of God go we.  People are still more important than ideas.
