In response to a recent post, my friend Joyce wrote in about a study that the UMW had some years ago entitled, "Walls that Divide Us" where the abiding quote was, "when God looks down from heaven, the walls of our churches that divide us are so infinitesimal."
What we see and what we hold dear is likely very different than what God holds dear.
While we are all tied up in our Nationality, God just sees people. We are for the Missouri Tigers or the Alabama Crimson Tide or the Florida Gators. Does God even notice when we steps across the supposed "state line?"
We have our Methodist box. We have our denominational doctrines. We have our walls.
God sees people.
That is all.
God sees people in need of love and care. Maybe we should get back to the basics of the work of the Samaritan and forget about our tribes and our tribal doctrine.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
