We visited Yad Vashem, the Israeli Holocaust museum. Pictures are not allowed inside, but no pictures are needed, as the sights inside will not be forgotten by those who visit.
I am sure that you all know that this is a place that is dedicated to the need to remember the six million Jews that were killed during WW2. There is a similar museum in Washington DC and one in St. Petersburg, FL. If you have not visited one, I highly recommend it.
From time to time, we human beings need to stop and take stock in what evil may lurk within.
One of the quotes that I saw in the museum, "A country is not defined just by what it does, it is also defined by what it allows."
What are we in the USA allowing to happen in our world, that we have the power to stop?
There is an avenue of trees planted in honor of those who helped Jews escape death during WW2 |
There is a room with maybe a million lights, where the names of the murdered children are read. |
It was a sobering day in God's world, may we all stop and see the good. May we all strive to be the good.
