On Sunday, a marginalized man [homeless] helped receive the morning offering.
A little background... In a world where many churches moved out of the downtown area to get away from a declining neighborhood, our church chose to stay. Our church chose to stay where the broken people lived. Consequently, we have a number of marginalized people that attend service.
Sunday, Easter Sunday, one of them helped receive the offering.
I loved it!!! The congregation has normalized the attendance of such people [as they should.] The usher crew decided to include this person [as they should.]
To me, it was a beautiful picture of the kingdom of God. Everyone was welcome. Everyone was in. Everyone was included, accepted and loved.
May it continue. May I, may we, do everything that we can to cause it to continue.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
