As a follow up to yesterday's post, I want to pose a question...
Is the root of Christianity, is the core of the Bible about love or sin? Is this faith all about how bad we are or about God's love for us?
I suggest to you that there are tons of examples in the Bible of people that did bad things and were still deeply loved by God. Moses killed a man and married the daughter of a pagan priest, yet he was chosen to lead Israel out of Egypt. On and on we could go with examples of this.
My point is simply that far too many Christians and pastors have made Christianity all about sin and how bad we are. When in fact, the opposite is true. Christianity is about how much God loves us. It is about how valuable we are to him.
If your brain is stuck thinking about sin, its time to turn those thoughts off and start thinking about love.
I am a wretched sinner or, I am a beloved child of God. Which thought do you want rolling around in your brain?
Choose love.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
