Shame leaves marks that last for a long time. Sometimes they never go away. 99 people say that they love you. 1 person says something bad to you and we are thrown into a downward spiral.
Why do we allow the words of the 1 to impact us so much? For me, it takes me back to my childhood. There was so much guilt and shame. It was the major way that we were raised, disciplined and controlled.
By the age of 68 I should be over feeling bad when someone says something bad... maybe I can move past it before I turn 69.
Work on resisting shame. Jesus never shamed anyone. You are a wonderful, amazing human. Let yourself feel like that!!!
