People ask me all the time, "How are you doing?" It is something that we ask each other.
How are you? How is your day going?
My stock answer is this... "I am 68 years old and I woke up today. That is a victory. That is a great start!!!"
Usually when people ask how you are doing, they really don't want you to open up about your current sufferings and griefs. So occasionally I will talk with close friends about what is really going on, but usually I am content to just celebrate that I am 68 and in relatively good health.
The real ticket in "how we are doing" is to learn to be ok, to be good, to find joy, even when there are sufferings. Sure we all have our stuff. Do we let it eat our lunch, or do we put it where it belongs and continue to see thee good.
When I let my struggles rise to the top I am good for no one. May I, may we all, look past our moments of pain and share the love.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
