moving away from what you were taught

Just because some person taught you something, does not mean that it is right. It is ok to question your beliefs. It is healthy to question them.

I was having breakfast with a friend and she told me, "I was taught that homeless people were dirty and scary and had diseases." Then she went on, "I don’t believe that anymore."

I loved that. I told her thank you for changing your beliefs. Thank you for moving away from what you were taught. Thank you for believing that reality may not lie in the things that you and I were taught.

What were you taught that might need some reconsideration?

Were you taught that God is mad? Rethink that. Were you taught that God is going to catch you on a technicality? Rethink that.

Must of what we were taught needs to be erased from the library in our heads. Sometimes we need to find new stories and new paradigms.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
