Well that sure is a dumb title for a blog post... but here goes...
If you are like me, you have heard your whole life that if you don't do the Jesus thing just right, you are going to be sent to hell... [really? who believes that God is like that?]
Anyway, my sister who is a kind and gracious person, but does not go to church, will she go to hell? I would not send her there myself.
And Mahatma Gandhi, a famously kind human... is he going to hell? Well I would not send him there.
So am I kinder than God? Am I more gracious than God?
Maybe the issue here is that we have our beliefs about God all wrong. He/She/It is not sending my sister, or Gandhi or you or me to hell.
If God loves us, we have paradise to look forward to, just like the thief on the cross.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
