Glad you shared all this. Looking at this long list, in various and unrelated types of employment, tells me.
Jeff does not back off from hard work
Jeff sets his priorities and is flexible in what it takes to earn a living
Working among so many situations and with so many kinds of people has undoubtedly given you an understanding of people you now minister to, from so many areas of life
Jeff will never run out of anything to do in retirement, because he is good at so many things
Jeff saved the best for last. So glad you ended up with both feet right in the middle of preaching and being a pastor....OUR pastor.
A quick question. When you were setting pins manually, did you ever have to set two lanes at once? That will keep anyone awake, when bowling balls are rolling down those lanes.
Can't help but share a couple of other things that came to mind in reading this...
Some of the things you did for a living through those years have carried over into service to others or home maintenance at your house
The high schooler who repaired bikes now repairs them at Hillcrest
The post-college asphalt plant worker personally helped Jay and some young people asphalt our whole parking lot at the WCC campus
And the all around talent of the handyman/repair man saved his kids lots of moolah when he repaired their cars. The deck builder was also able to repair of his own deck at home.
The post college and seminary youth director made his way through the joys and challenges of raising his own teenagers, knowing a bit about how youth think and what they do
God is not wasteful in guiding and providing for us. So much of what you did, you now do. And with a house for sale your experience at moving furniture during college summers is probably about to get you some "opportunity" to move furniture when your house sells...ouch to Jeff's back and knees, when he's no longer a college kid.
