boundaries

Last week in the men’s group at WCC a talk was given  using the John Lennon song "Imagine" as a lead in. I think it struck each person in the room in a positive way. To me it is a song about removing the lines we draw in the sand.

Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace, you
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

No heaven-No hell. No countries-No religion-No possessions. Views on these things and others can and have divided us. It is an ancient tribal way of thinking. Us and Them. Sadly, we can develop an appetite for it and we lose focus on God’s love and the work he has for us.

Peace,

Lion’s Den

I always thought this was a neat song ( except for the no heaven or religion which I couldn't understand) Thanks for Your explaination of it
