phone call

I called a friend that I had not spoken to for a long time.  Usually when a phone call begins, they say “Hello” and then the caller responds with “Hi this is so and so.”  Or “Hi, how are you?”  This phone call began differently.

When my call was answered, the voice on the other end said, “Hello, I love you.”  I love you was added to the greeting.  It stopped me in my tracks.  I started to cry.  I caught my breath, and then I said, “I love you too.”

Those three words are so powerful.  We should use them more. 

Hello.  I love  you.
