Oh my.

This made my gray matter arc.

From a recent Richard Rohr devotional…. “Jesus never asked us to worship him, only to follow him.”  Stop and cook on that for a moment.  Really just pause and think about that for a bit before you read on....“Jesus never asked us to worship him, only to follow him.”

Other writings in the new testament point to the importance of worshiping Jesus.  The God of the Old Testament expected to be worshiped, but Jesus himself never asked for it.

What are the implications of that?  What are the implications of that?  Ok, there is nothing wrong with worshiping Jesus of course, but… maybe Jesus would like a bit less singing and a little more living.  A little less worshiping and a little more following.  Too many Christians sing the songs on Sunday and live the rest of the week as if they are following themselves.

Following Jesus is worshiping him.  It’s time to engage in the mission.

It’s a beautiful day in God’s world, be sure to see the good.
