From time to time I get Facebook messages and even email messages from people who want something. Pretending to be someone that I know, they want money or a gift card or they want your personal information.
I have started the habit of replying to the scammers with questions like, "does your mother know what you do for a living?"
The other day, one of the scammers wrote me back. He said that he was doing this because our country had stolen so much from other countries. He said that our prosperity was built on the backs of little people like him... he was only trying to get his fair share back.
Interesting logic.
Please be careful when accepting friend requests. Please do not ever pay for anything online with a gift card. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
The scammer said that 30% of his victims fall for the ploy. Don't be one of them. Just because the name and picture are familiar does not mean that the message is from your friend.
Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
