Please remember that we are here to win people to Christ, not simply to be comfortable. A friend sent me these quotes:
“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”
"Authentic faith naturally produces action, but faith is hindered unless we abandon ourselves to that faith. Did you know that the African impala can jump to a height of over ten feet and cover a distance of greater than thirty feet? Yet these magnificent creatures can be kept in any zoo by a three-foot wall. The animals will not jump if they cannot see where their feet will land.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

Just as construction workers have occupational safety hazards, I hope people realize that those who continually fight change are one of the occupational hazards of a pastors life. I hope people realize that good pastors who introduce change, can be left with many sleepless nights, when the attacks over change come. Many young pastors become disillusioned with the ministry, and get out over such things as this.
I call bitterness over change and refusal to not have it your way, whining. God would like all of us to grow up into Him.
Sometimes we desire comfort, because it feels better. But often, God desires to send us the greater blessing, through our experiencing things that don't always feel comfortable. I love this song.
I love the song Laura Story sings about what "Blessings" really look like sometimes. Not always the comfort we've come to expect. A wonderful message in that song.
