Count to four.
Anytime I go somewhere I count to four. Wallet, phone, Watch, keys. 1234 and I make sure that I have everything -wallet watch phone keys.
One time I was going somewhere with a friend and they saw me do this and they made fun of me. They said I sounded like the old song, head, shoulders, knees, and toes.
So I was checking in my rental car at the Baltimore airport last week. And as I was walking toward the shuttle bus, I counted to four and I realized that I couldn’t see my watch. I thought I felt it on my wrist, but I wasn’t sure. Did I leave it at the hotel? It wouldn’t be the first time. And I thought to myself "well it’s too late now if you’ve left it behind it’s lost to you and a blessing to whoever finds it."
Sometimes we get too attached to our possessions. Turns out I did have the watch on my arm, but I still think we get too attached to things. May we all learn to count people as more important than things.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
