Jesus is bigger than the church

As Amos Smith writes: “My core truth about Jesus isn’t rooted in mainstream Christian tradition. It’s rooted in Jesus’ essence. It’s about the deep stillness of silent prayer and a theology big enough to give that blessed stillness words."

All churches try to define and explain Jesus, but Jesus is bigger than the church.  When the greatest theologian of all time gets to heaven he is going to say, Wow!!!  When the greatest Christian author meets Jesus in heaven he is going to say, Amazing!!!  When the most powerful pastors and bishops get to meet Jesus in person they are going to see that Jesus is bigger, much bigger than the dogmas of our churches.

I love the church and I am all for the church, but don't let your God be limited by the doctrine that you have been taught.

Jesus is bigger than the church.  Jesus is bigger than we have let him be in the past.  Free Jesus from what you have been taught about him.
