giving

My Pastor, Tim Barton, has asked me to preach on January 28th.

The assigned topic is "extravagant generosity."

Oh, there is so much to be said about this.  For example, It is better to give than to receive.  

Recently I got a note from my friend Mike R.  He suggested that instead of giving until it hurts, we should think in terms of giving until it feels good.

This will make the January 28 sermon for sure.  Imagine that we learn to give enough... not just of money, but of time, talent and heart as well... imagine that we learn to give enough, that it starts to feel good.

Imagine thinking... I gave and I gave and I found the joy.  It started to feel good!!!

Now that my friends is extravagant generosity.
