I recently heard this said, "don't accept criticism from those from whom you would not accept advice."
I like that quote. And I will add a couple of thoughts... Caring people can deliver constructive criticism in ways that do not hurt. I think that it is important to listen to the caring, even correcting thoughts of others.
Sometimes though, when people are critical, it says more about them and where they are at in life than it does about you and what you may be doing.
Sometimes there are unhappy people who just need to barf on someone because they are unhappy.
Let it roll off your back.
