He tells her, "it's good to care, even if it hurts. It keeps you human."
I would add that when we stop caring, we become hardened and mean. We can become bitter, even psychopathic.
It is indeed good to care, even if it hurts. It keeps you human. Being human, being a caring person feels good - it feels right.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
