Too often we humans want to fix a problem by spurting out some pat answer.
The world does not need our pat answers. Especially in times of pain... at a funeral, when someone is sick, when there is a loss... our pat answers are not needed and they do more harm than good.
What our friends do need though, is the gift of presence. Just be there. Just hug them. Tell them that you love them. Stand by them. Let them lean on you.
You don't need to say anything. Your presence is more beneficial than any words that you might say.
It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to be the good.
