Christmas Card

I received a wonderful Christmas Card from the Smith family.  Really.

On the cover were the words:

  • Help a Stranger
  • Praise a Child
  • Light a Candle
  • Share your Love
  • Sing for Joy
  • Lend a Hand
  • Pray for Peace
  • Understand

Inside were the words:
"Peace and Joy this Season and throughout the Year."

I loved the message.  It felt so good, so positive.  It made me smile!

  • Help a Stranger
  • Praise a Child
  • Light a Candle
  • Share your Love
  • Sing for Joy
  • Lend a Hand
  • Pray for Peace
  • Understand

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

Last night when I was trying to go to sleep, my thoughts turned to Mary and all the things she must have been thinking about on the night before Jesus was born. I've been knocking myself out for weeks, trying to make sure everything is "perfect" for Christmas. Mary didn't seek perfection. She sought shelter, both physically and spiritually.

Mary gave us the most perfect gift ever given. And she didn't have to go shopping. As a matter of fact, the gift came to her and was not only for her, but hers to give. She didn't have to do Amazon. She did the Amazing.

As a woman, my thoughts were of what Mary must have been thinking about the impending childbirth. Was she a bit frightened, was she a bit overwhelmed, did she wonder if she'd be a good mother? Somehow I think Mary had peace in her heart that took care of all this.

Thank you Mary
Thank you God
And shame on me for stressing out over Christmas.
