Are you a Democrat? Congratulations.
Are you a Republican? Congratulations.
As a Christian, we are called to love one another. Do you shame the opposition party on social media? Is this what Jesus would do? Do you have ill will towards the other candidate? The other party? Do you pull up behind a car with a bumper sticker for the other side and feel ill will? Is this what Jesus would do?
What ever happened to love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, meekness and self-control?
Jesus calls us to something higher.
We are called to love each other.
Even those of the other party. Especially those of the other party. Love your enemies.
It is time for Christian people, for Methodist Christian people to stop posting hateful things about the other party.
20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
