stop asking

Someone shared this with me recently. It is a thought about making friends and growing relationships. Here it is:   "stop asking for what you want and instead start asking what you can offer."

That phrase reminded me of the story about the monkey who reaches into a jar to get a penny but he can't get his fist out of the jar unless he releases the penny.

When we take unto ourselves, we are not helping ourselves. When we stop focusing on what we want and instead invest in others, the return, the blessing comes back to us.

It is in giving that we receive.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to be the good.
