seeing the good

There is generally so much more good than bad.  Although we don't like it when things don't go our way, there is still lots of good.

How can we train ourselves to see the good?

I wrecked the car - sad.
No one was hurt - the good.

Moles are living in our yard - sad
It's a great summer so far for grass - good

I have a cat that is annoying me - annoying.
I have a cat that likes to be scratched -  good.

My friend is sick -  sad
My friend is adjusting to the situation - good.

My friend may die - sad
I have to remember that we are not promised for ever.

I don't understand God - sometimes sad.
God is good.  Very good.

There is far more good than bad in this world.  Can we train ourselves to see it?

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

Your subject matter is so timely . Just yesterday I came to the sudden realization that all the bad news and the negative people in our world is keeping us from seeing the good. We are inundated with bad news, and sometimes surrounded by grumblers - doom and gloomers.

We were out for a drive and saw some beauty in the country side, and other reminders of good. I decided to start trying to be alert for good things that are everywhere in God's world.

Then I kind of tied it in with your blog post from the day before, about wanting more for someone. With that, I thought we cannot find the good in the world for someone else, if they choose to continually focus on the bad and have critical attitudes. Each of us has to want to see the good for ourselves.
