My Father's World

One of my favorite songs is This is My Father's World.

1. This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings
the music of the spheres.

This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
his hand the wonders wrought.

2. This is my Father's world,
the birds their carols raise, [can you hear the birds sing?]
the morning light, the lily white,
declare their maker's praise.
This is my Father's world:
he shines in all that's fair;
in the rustling grass I hear him pass;
he speaks to me everywhere.

3. This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget
that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.

This is my Father's world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!

I would like to comment on this thought for a moment today.  Yes.  This is my Father's world.  This world does not belong to the devil.  [he is a finite, created, not all knowing, not all present being.]  This world does not belong to the Americans, the Chinese or the Russians.  It does not belong to our bosses.  It does not belong to Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton.

This is my Father's world.  He gives humans a lot of freedom, and I know that he does not like everything that they do, but this is still his world.  This is my Father's world.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

Thank you, I recall enjoying this hymn 50 years ago when a choir I was in preformed it a cappella. I went looking for it on the internet and found several performances of it but only one a cappella and listening to it took me back 50 years. Here is a link to it on you tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLA81gIsS1Q
