life lesson

I tried to teach this to my kids.  I have talked about it before.  I am going to talk about it til my dying day.

Bad things are going to happen.  You are going to get kicked in the teeth.  A flat tire is in your future.  You are going to fall down and break your wrist.  You are going to get hit by a pitch.  It is coming.  It may or may not be at your house today, but there is always something coming.

We can't control what difficulty may come.  We can't always control the outcome.  But we can always control our response to the difficulty.  Life is a rose garden that holds both roses and thorns.  They go together.

Be mad for a while if you have to, be frustrated for a while if you have to, but then move out.  Take a deep breath and get back in the game.  Brush the dirt off of your clothes and get back in the batter's box.  When you get knocked down, get back up.  There is no other way.  It is the only choice available to those who would be successful in this life.

God is hoping that we will share the joy, even in the midst of difficulty.  Getting up and taking a step in the right direction is always the healthy move.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
