Charleston

I finally decided to write a few words on this topic...... it is such a painful one.

Nine people shot dead at a Methodist Church in Charleston.  Murdered.  Executed.  Why?  Because a very young man decided that he hated another race.

We shake our heads.  We take a deep breath and wonder who could do such a thing.  We pray for the families of the victims.  We pray for the family of the killer.  Although part of our brains does not want to do so, we pray for the shooter.  May God reach in and change his heart.

Hatred is ugly.  Very ugly.  May we all do everything that we can to eradicate it from our hearts and minds.  May God's love prevail.........

Jeff, what is even more painful to me, at this time in our society is this. Every young man or woman who is messed up in their head, to the point of doing something like this young man did, started out in this life as an innocent baby.

What is causing young people (or some not so young) to end up so messed up in life? Was it the home environment? Was it the cruelty of the amount and kinds of drugs available to kids? Was it someone who failed to pick up on the depth of mental health issues? I just don't know, but I know babies come into this world so innocent. This really troubles me. I wish there was a simple answer and we could fix it.
