falling into love

I was reading more Richard Rohr the other day.  He was talking about how Christianity ought to be an exercise of "falling into the love of God."  Instead we have turned it into a contest of our worthiness or morality that no one can win, and many don't even try.

By leaving the core message of love, and turning the faith instead into a one up man-ship of who is good and who is bad, we have crushed many people and turned away many people from the faith.

It is not too late to learn new ways.  Sometimes Christians never change their ways until they see how much their judgment is hurting other people.  May we all shuck the judgment, like a butterfly leaves its cocoon.  May we all take flight into that life of love that God intended for us.  That is the life of love, joy and peace.  That is the abundant life.  This is where we find the peace that passes understanding.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.
