For years we have battled the temptation of some staff and members to say, "Jeff says." Or "that is the way that Jeff wants it done." I have fought against this kind of talk because we should never do anything just because Jeff says. What we do, we need to do because of our mission. Our decisions should be based on our mission.
If Jeff is off mission, then we need to straighten him out. If Jeff is on mission, then what we do we are doing because of our mission. I have always said, Jeff won't be here forever, but our mission of connecting people to Jesus Christ goes on.
We do what we do because of our mission. Not because of what Jeff says. Now that Jeff is leaving, that should be abundantly clear.
