816 people survived the sinking of the Titanic. They all had the same story, but they also had 816 different stories or versions of the event.
When we have a life experience, we each have a tale to tell. I have mine, each person has their own, and each person is entitled to their own story.
We need to be open to understand that our version isn’t always, or probably isn’t ever without our perspective, our spin. Some need to tell the story in a negative way; others will find a positive way to tell the very same story.
I encourage everyone, no matter what is going on in their lives, to find a way to tell the story in a way that emphasizes the positive and sees the good. Life is too short to carry a narrative that hurts others. Part of forgiving someone is agreeing that we will no longer tell the story of “what they did to us.”
Sure the Titanic sunk, but we are alive and we have a chance to live on. There is always a positive way to look at a story.
It’s a beautiful day in God’s world, be sure to see the good.
