its so sad

I was watching the news and a woman who had lost her home in Hawaii was crying.  She said, "it is so sad."  Yes indeed it is sad, but wait a minute.

You bought a home in a development that is built on the side of an active volcano.  Kilauea means "spewing or much spreading" in Hawaiian.  It has been named that for a long time because it has been erupting and active for hundreds of years.  Yet we build houses next to it and we get sad when our housed are destroyed.

Yes it is sad, but come on.

A 15 year old boy went for a swim in a lake in Orlando known for it's alligator population.  Although
locals know the gators are there and signs are posted, they continue to fish and swim there.  The boy is missing.  Yes it is sad, but at some point don't we need to think a little harder about our choices?

I wish that common sense was a bit more common.

It's a beautiful day in God's world be sure to see the good.
