Life is fragile

Saturday night, a good friend of ours went to be with the Lord. Jim Rubino sang in the choir and sang in the gospel choir. He died peacefully in his sleep.

Jim was always friendly and positive. He helped people without fanfare and expected nothing in return. He did his acts of kindness in secret.

He was positive and joyful. He had a big singing voice and a big heart. He will be missed.

When death comes in like this, suddenly and unexpectedly, it hurts. It startles us and reminds us that life is fragile. Every day is a gift and we never know when our last one will be. Consequently, we should live with a sense of urgency and enjoyment.

Goodbye my friend, Jim. God be with you til we meet again.

May each of us live this day with joy, and appreciation for the gift that it truly is.

Its a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

I'm finding alot of comfort listening to Fernando Ortega's "What Wondrous Love Is This".
What wondrous love is this O my soul O my soul
What wondrous love is this O my soul
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul for my soul
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul

To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing
To God and to the Lamb I will sing
To God and to the Lamb who is the great I Am
While millions join the theme I will sing

And when from death I'm free I'll sing on I'll sing on
And when from death I'm free I'll sing on
And when from death I'm free I'll sing and joyful be
And through eternity I'll sing on, I'll sing on
And through eternity I'll sing on

Jim was a wondrous reflection of God's grace. His joy came from his relationship with the living God, a God who loved and forgave him and all of us, always, no exceptions.

Jim frequently repeated Christ’s words in Gethsemane, “not my will but Thine be done”. He also said that "God's healing grace is offered endlessly; that it is delivered in unexpected ways we often fail to recognize. At times, we need the experience of others to clue us in on what God is giving us. We learn from others or from efforts to help them".

Jim was always helping and learning. I will miss his big voice, his big hugs and his big faith. I know that right now, he is in perfect health, his spirit is filled with a profound joy and that he is playing with little children on the floor in heaven. I love you, my friend. Until we meet again.... Lynne
