Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to me.  I was born at St. Lukes Hospital on the Plaza 55 years ago.

When I turned 50, I was driving somewhere with my son.  He said, "ha ha Dad, you are old."  Often when confronted by such nonsense, I never think of what to say until later.  You know the experience of thinking later - "I wish I would have said that then."

Well I was ready for 16 year old Scott.   I told him, "you know son, I have had many friends who never lived long enough to see 50, I am glad to be here.  I hope that you get to be 50 one day too."

He said, "good point, Dad."

Every day is a gift from God and it's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

They call this the double nickel birthday. Any dad who has raised three teens is fortunate if he has two nickels left in his pocket.

Happy two fivers.

Age is something that doesn’t matter, unless you are a cheese.

Your are aging well, pastor. Now on to the next 50!

Continuned luck with your recent weight loss.
