choice

It's a choice.  I choose my response.  I choose my attitude.  My mom used to say, "no one makes you mad, you choose to be mad."  My favorite author used to say, "if you have a problem with someone, then you have a problem."

We all have our issues and our stories.  Something is bothering you this week.  Me too.  How will we respond?  It's our choice.

It's a beautiful day in God's world, be sure to see the good.

You are so right on this. Realizing we have a choice in how we respond to day after day situations is not easy, but it's right and it's emotionally healthy.

Thanks for the reminder of this and other things in your posts.

An additional thought about your post today. The same principle your mom taught you about choosing to be mad, can also apply to choosing whether to accept the hurt if someone says or does unkind things to try to get you or hurt you.

My mother always said "sticks and stones can break my bones, but names can never harm me." Some people will argue this as not being practical, but it's Biblical and works if you let it. If we realize who defines and owns us, as a Christian, then we are a child of the King. We don't have to accept unwarranted unkind things, but rather say to the person "I'm sorry you feel that way, but your feelings are a choice you make."

All is well.
