self-unaware

self-unaware

It has been said repeatedly that the righteous are self-unaware.  When Jesus says I was hungry and you fed me, the righteous were just so caught up in the generous life that they were living that they didn’t recognize their goodness.  They said to Jesus, when were you hungry and we fed you?

In the same way, imagine that you are hammering a nail and you hit your thumb by mistake.   Well immediately, your right hand goes into action.  It washes the left, puts on soothing ointment and a bandage.  The right hand does not hesitate to act.  The right hand does not consider itself to be superior.  The right hand does not say anything to the left about how broken it is.  The right simply sees the need and acts.

When we are filled with the Spirit, we act in loving kindness to all people.

It’s a beautiful day in God’s world, be sure to see the good.
