True love
True love is making yourself available to another
person. Helping them bring in the
groceries. Eating with them. Helping them with chores. Even watching their favorite cooking show on
TV.
Love is more than a feeling.
It is investing in another person.
Trying to give them, not what I want in life, but what they want. True love is sacrificial. It lets others in, so that the deep parts of
who I am can be known.
It can be frightening to make yourself available to others,
to allow others to get close to you. But
to love and be loved, we must open ourselves and become known.
